Through the use of the baffles, the liquid in the Tube Settler is maintained in a quiescent condition which allows the solids to settle to the bottom for collection.
The accumulating solids known as “Sludge” shall be constantly pumped back into the FBBR tank by sludge recycle pumps. This return sludge undergoes further digestion in the aeration tank and also provides the active organism needed to digest the incoming raw sewage.
